Goals of the training

  • Understand the indications, contraindications, and alternatives for ESD. 
  • Classify the lesion based on morphologic findings using the Paris classification. 
  • Learn different strategies for the ESD procedure. 
  • Know the different types and applications of endoscopic knives, hemostatic forceps.
  • Know different types of injection solutions. 
  • Understand appropriate electrosurgical generator settings. 
  • Understand periprocedure antiplatelet and anticoagulation management.
  • Appropriately interpret pathologic findings 
  • Management and prevention of adverse events
  • Post operative Follow up plan

ESD Fellowship program

  • State of art lectures, videos cases, interactive discussion
  • Faculty: International experts
  • 20 trainees
  • Online quiz page 
  • Identifying the needs for the upcoming phase of hands-on training
  • Hands-on training will be conducted for trainees from the same countries 
  • The trainer will be from the same country as well. 
  • One-day hands-on training 
  • Trainees at this phase will learn:
    1. Inspect the esophagus or stomach
    2. Mark the outer margins of pseudo lesions
    3. Inject and perform circumferential incision
    4. Inject to lift the pseudo lesion
    5. Perform submucosal dissection
    6. Inspect the ulcer
  • 3 days for the country of trainees 
  • Each trainee will perform his cases on at least for one day under direct supervision of international expert
  • Trainees will closely observe experienced proctors performing ESD cases, receiving hands-on guidance and mentorship.
  • This invaluable proctorship phase will help trainees master the complex ESD procedure under expert supervision.

Phase 1 – Virtual (Theoretical part)

  • Attending the first online session
  • State of art lectures, videos cases, interactive discussion and Q & A part. 
  • Faculty: International experts (European – American) 
  • 20 trainees

Phase 2 – Assessment

  • Online quiz page 
  • Identifying the needs for the upcoming phase of hands-on training

Phase 3 – Hands-on training

  • Hands-on training will be conducted for trainees from the same countries 
  • The trainer will be from the same country as well. 
  • One-day hands-on training 
  • Trainees at this phase will learn:

Phase 4Patient observation

  • 3 days for the country of trainees 
  • The expert will travel to observe in another country 
  • Each trainee will perform his cases on at least for one day under direct supervision of international expert
